Education begins with opportunities.
The Infinity Help Foundation's first joint education project was launched in late 2025 in the mountain village of Grang. Together with the local population, children, teachers, and the school were supported in a location where even small changes could make a big difference.
How it all began.
Not every story begins with a plan. Some begin with an unexpected turn. Purna was actually supposed to travel to Switzerland in the summer of 2025. Together, Ruth and Purna had prepared various training courses – from sustainable coffee cultivation and visits to organic farms to computer, photography, and film workshops. Their time together in Switzerland was intended to generate new ideas and valuable experience for future projects.
But their joint plans took an unexpected turn: Purna's visa for Switzerland was not granted.
What initially seemed like a huge disappointment, in retrospect, turned out to be a crucial turning point. Ruth decided to travel to Nepal again at the end of 2025. Together, they became convinced that they should no longer just talk about potential projects, but take the first concrete step together with the local population.
This led to the first joint educational project – and at the same time laid the foundation for the later Infinity Help Foundation.
During their stay, Ruth and Purna spoke with the local people. Together they considered where a lasting difference could be made with simple means. It quickly became clear that the school in the mountain village of Grang needed support in various areas.
Subsequently, school backpacks, notebooks, writing materials, books, sports equipment, winter jackets, and other learning materials were organized. At the same time, paint was procured to renovate the school building and several classrooms together with the local community.
The time had come on December 30, 2025.
What had been planned and prepared together in the preceding weeks became reality on this day. Early on, people from Grang and the surrounding villages gathered on the school grounds. Around 450 people came together to celebrate this special moment.
Ruth and Purna received a warm welcome with traditional music, dances, and khatas – Nepalese lucky scarves symbolizing respect, connection, and appreciation. The joy and openness of the village community made this day special from the very beginning.
After the welcome, speeches, joint discussions, and many personal encounters followed.
For Purna it was a very special moment: For the first time he spoke in front of so many people about a shared vision that should not only give hope, but also create concrete perspectives.
The children then received their new school backpacks, notebooks, books, writing materials, and winter jackets. At the same time, the first work began to beautify the school building and classrooms – not as an isolated event, but as a community project involving many people.
Much more than just school supplies were handed out that day.
A sense of unity, mutual trust, and shared responsibility emerged. Ruth and Purna realized how much is possible when people listen to each other, share their ideas, and act together.
December 30, 2025, therefore, not only marked the conclusion of a successful educational project. It became the beginning of a collaboration that continues to form the foundation of the Infinity Help Foundation to this day.
Why this project?
Education is far more than just lessons. It creates opportunities, strengthens self-confidence, and empowers children to actively shape their future. That's precisely why the Infinity Help Foundation decided to implement its first joint project in the field of education.
At first glance, the project consisted of school backpacks, books, winter jackets and the joint renovation of a school building.
But the true value of this day could not be measured in numbers or materials.
For the children, the new learning materials meant better conditions for everyday school life. The winter jackets provided protection during the cold months, and the renovated classrooms became places where learning could once again be enjoyable.
But what developed between people was at least as important.
The planning and implementation were carried out jointly with the village community. Ideas were shared, responsibility was assumed, and decisions were made together. From a single project, mutual trust developed – the foundation for long-term cooperation.
This experience continues to shape the work of the Infinity Help Foundation to this day.
Sustainable change doesn't happen when solutions are imposed from the outside. It happens where people shape their future together and take responsibility for one another.
The educational project in Grang was therefore far more than a one-off undertaking. It became the starting point of a partnership that gradually led to further projects and new perspectives.

Listening together instead of deciding
Before the first school supplies were organized or renovation work was planned, Ruth and Purna focused on something else: listening.
During their stay in Grang, they took time to talk to teachers, parents, and other people from the village. Together they discussed the challenges that make everyday school life difficult and where sustainable improvements could be achieved with simple means.
It quickly became apparent that the problem wasn't just a lack of school supplies. Many children lacked a complete set of basic equipment for their lessons, warm winter clothing was not a given during the cold season, and the school building itself was in dire need of renovation in several areas.
Every decision was based on the needs of the local people – not on pre-made solutions.

What was needed wasn't decided by individuals alone. The ideas were developed collaboratively with the local people – right where they were later implemented.
Overcoming challenges together
The mountain village of Grang is located in a remote region of Nepal. Many families live in simple conditions, and access to essential resources is often associated with long journeys and significant challenges.
The school also constantly faces new challenges. Learning materials are lacking, buildings require maintenance, and especially during the cold winter months, many children lack adequate winter clothing to attend classes regularly.
Furthermore, new students enroll every year. This constantly creates new needs that require a flexible response.
These challenges demonstrate that education cannot be strengthened with a one-off grant. It needs people who are willing to take on long-term responsibility.
Development
The educational project in Grang was never intended as a one-off event. From the very beginning, the focus was on building a long-term partnership.
Today, contact with the school and the village community continues. Regular discussions take place to determine what needs exist and where future support can be effectively used.
With each school year, new children join, materials need to be replaced, and new challenges must be tackled together. In this way, the collaboration also develops step by step – always guided by the needs of the local people.
The experiences gained from the first educational project still form the basis for further educational initiatives of the Infinity Help Foundation. They show that sustainable development arises where trust grows and people take on shared responsibility.
