The flood disaster of August 2026 fundamentally changed the lives of many people in the region.
Families have lost loved people, people are missing and the consequences of the ongoing rainfall continue to pose major challenges for the affected communities.
With the first delivery of food, clothing, medicine and other urgently needed relief supplies, the Infinity Help Foundation was able to respond immediately.
Yet emergency aid is only the first step.
Our aim is to find out, together with the people in Ramche, Grang and Low Grang, what support is really needed now and in the future.
A connection that already existed before.
Ramche, Grang and Low Grang are no strangers to the Infinity Help Foundation.
Purna was born in Ramche and remains closely connected to the people and the region to this day. The previous projects of the Infinity Help Foundation have also arisen from personal encounters and cooperation with local communities.
When the consequences of the flood disaster became visible, it was therefore quickly clear that action had to be taken.
In September 2026, Purna, together with a local aid team, organised the first emergency relief operation. Food, clothing and other required aid supplies were taken to Ramche, Grang and Low Grang and distributed there.
What is needed now
People's immediate needs can change rapidly after a disaster. That is why the support is based on the current situation and local needs – not on a predetermined plan.
Purna is in close contact with the people in Ramche, Grang and Low Grang. Following his return to Kathmandu, it is now known that more than 150 people from the villages currently require medical assistance.
Together, it will be discussed what needs exist and where the available funds can be used effectively.
This allows the aid to be directed to where it is actually needed.
Together beyond first aid
It is not yet fully possible to estimate what long-term consequences the disaster will have for the people in Ramche, Grang and Low Grang.
Special attention is being paid to families and children whose life situation has fundamentally changed as a result of the disaster. According to current information, more than 40 children aged between three and four, as well as five babies, have lost their parents. The youngest affected child is only eight months old.
It is currently not yet conclusively known which form of long-term support will be appropriate for these children.
Further tasks may also arise in the areas of reconstruction, education and the creation of long-term prospects. It is not yet possible to say conclusively what next steps will result from this.
We want to understand what people need first – and take the next steps together with them.
Transparent help
The Infinity Help Foundation currently operates on a voluntary basis.
The donated funds are passed on to support the people locally. Only incurred bank and transfer fees are covered by the donations.
Using pictures, videos and up-to-date information from Nepal, we simultaneously aim to transparently document how the situation is developing and what aid can be implemented together.
